Neil Duff, Chris Gilliland, Reece Colley, Lukas Wenig and Darren Johnson all secured their places into Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join John Henderson, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Duff, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, won four matches from five again to top the group overall, as he recorded victories against Ryan Murray, Vitezslav Sedlak, Shaun Griffiths and Chris Wickenden, with his only defeat coming against Chris Gilliland, to end on 16 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Chris Gilliland also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 14 points, edging past Ryan Murray, who also ended on 14 points, but missed out leg difference, whilst Chris Wickenden finished 4th on 10 points, Shaun Griffiths in 5th on 4 points and Vitezslav Sedlak bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Reece Colley topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Dan Read, Martyn Turner and Lukas Wenig, with his only defeat coming against Darren Johnson, to end on 10 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Lukas Wenig and Darren Johnson also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Wenig ending on 10 points and Johnson on 8 points, whilst Dan Read and Martyn Turner ended 4th and 5th respectively on 6 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Nine with the six players battling it out for just 1 spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm GMT.
