Warburton Is Wednesday Warrior

Mike Warburton secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, after winning three of his five matches to end his Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the Modus Super Series.

Warburton, who entered Wednesday’s play on 16 points from the opening two days of Group A, won three matches from five to top the group overall, as he recorded victories against Robert Thornton, Sven Verdonck and Mark Barilli, with his two defeats coming against John Desreumaux and Jeremy Fagg, to end on 22 points from a possible 30.

Elsewhere, Jeremy Fagg and Robert Thornton will compete in Group B, after the pair finished 2^nd and 3^rd respectively, with Fagg also ending on 22 points, but was edged out by Warburton on legs won across the three days of play, whilst Thornton ended on 16 points. The duo will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Chas Barstow, Sam Cankett and Reece Robinson.

John Desreumaux, Mark Barilli and Sven Verdonck will compete in Group C, after finishing 4^th, 5^th and 6^th respectively overall, with Desreumaux ending on 14 points, whilst Barilli and Verdonck ended on 8 points each. The trio will be joined on Thursday and Friday Afternoon by Scott Walters, Dom Taylor and Mal Cuming.

Modus Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 1pm BST and Group B commencing from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
