Thornton On The March

Dom Taylor and Robert Thornton took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Mike Warburton in the Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.

Taylor, who returned to the Super Series for the first time since February, took the early lead in Group C, by winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Sven Verdonck, John Desreumaux, Scott Walters and Mark Barilli, with his only defeat coming against Mal Cuming.

Elsewhere, three players in Mal Cuming, Mark Barilli and John Desreumaux ended the day 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th respectively on 6 points each, whilst Scott Walters sits in 5^th on 4 points, but it was a disappointing day for Sven Verdonck, despite picking up a solitary win, with the Belgian pulling out of his final game with John Desreumaux due to a shoulder injury and will not continue for the remainder of the week.

In Group B, Robert Thornton took the early lead, with the Scottish Veteran completing a clean sweep with four wins from four, as he recorded victories against Chas Barstow, Reece Robinson, Jeremy Fagg and Sam Cankett, dropping just seven legs along the way.

Elsewhere, Jeremy Fagg and Reece Robinson ended the night 2^nd and 3^rd respectively on 4 points each, whilst Chas Barstow and Sam Cankett sit 4^th and 5^th on 2 points heading into the final night on Friday.

Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Mike Warburton in Saturday’s finale, with Taylor and Thornton taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
