Darts World ambassador Colin Osborne was 1 of 5 players to qualify for Saturday’s Finale of Stage 4 Week 4 of the MODUS Super Series on Friday night.
The Wizard finished runner up in Group B ahead of Ryan Furness in 3rd and Martijn Dragt who topped the group.
Scott Baker and Peter Hudson complete Saturday’s line-up, after the ADC qualifier edged Willie Borland on legs difference to qualify 2nd from Group C.
Former World Champion Christian Kist was the first player into Finals Night, after the Dutchman finished top of Group A back on Wednesday.
Osborne picked up just the one win during his first session of the week in yesterdays session. The Wizard recovered on the Final day, losing just one match as he raced onto 8pts to move ahead of ADC Europe qualifier Kevin Blomme, who despite a strong start to the week just misses out along with Adam Lipscombe from Group B.
Scott Baker and Martijn Dragt came into Friday’s session as the group leaders, with both securing top spots as the Dutchman finished 4pts clear in Group B. The Englishman finishes with 18pts after 2 sessions, with 6pts separating him from 2nd placed Peter Hudson.
Kevin Painter dealt Willie Borland a huge blow in his attempts to qualify for Finals Night, averaging 94.24 in a 4-2 win in the Scotsman’s last match of the group.
It was debutant Tommy Morris who produced the highest average of the day, after coming in as a last-minute replacement for Prakash Jiwa who pulled out due to unforeseen circumstances.
The Englishman averaged 100.20 including a 110 finish in whitewashing Willie Borland 4-0 in his opening match of the day.
The action concludes tomorrow night with 6 players all hunting down the £5,000 weekly prize and a spot in the MODUS Super Series Champions Week.
