Jim Plays Long Game To Secure Finals Place

JIM Long was this week’s Wednesday Warrior and secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, after winning four of his five matches to end his Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the Modus Super Series.

Long, who entered Wednesday’s play on 12 points from the opening two days of Group A, topped the group overall, after winning four matches from five, recording victories against Joey Ten Berge, John Brown, Fallon Sherrock and Berry Van Peer, with his only defeat coming against Ron Meulenkamp, to end on 20 points from a possible 30.

Elsewhere, Fallon Sherrock and Berry Van Peer will compete in Group B, after the pair finished 2^nd and 3^rd respectively overall, with Sherrock narrowly missing out on an automatic spot through to Saturday’s finale, as she ended on 20 points overall but finished behind Long on leg difference, whilst Van Peer ended on 16 points. The duo will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Scott Taylor, Lee Budgen and Shaun McDonald.

Ron Meulenkamp, John Brown and Joey Ten Berge will all compete in Group C, after finishing 4^th, 5^th and 6^th respectively overall, with Meulenkamp and Brown ending on 12 points each and Ten Berge on 10 points. The trio will be joined on Thursday and Friday Afternoon by Jamie Kelling, Alan Norris and Alec Small.

Modus Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 1pm BST and Group B commencing from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
