Beast Mode at MSS

Andy Baetens took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as Week Eight of Stage Four commenced at the Modus Super Series.

The Beast, a WDF World No.1, who was making his debut at the Super Series, made it a perfect start, after winning all five of his matches, with the Belgian recording victories against Geert De Vos, Chris Gilliland, Leonard Gates, Luke Littler and James Richardson.

Gates has come straight from Yeovil after claiming his second Seniors TV event this summer. The WSDT Masters Champion overcame Richie Howson (6-2) on Sunday evening to claim the title at the Westlands.

Elsewhere, 16-year-old Luke Littler sits in 2^nd on 8 points, whilst Chris Gilliland and James Richardson sit 3^rd and 4^th respectively on 4 points each, with Leonard Gates and Geert De Vos sitting joint bottom on 2 points each.

Stage Three winner Littler will be looking to become the first player to claim two of the MSS phases. Firstly he must qualify for the next champion week by triumphing this week.

The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Baetens leading the way thus far.
