Jelle Klaasen was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Nine at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Chris Landman in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Klaasen, who entered Saturday’s finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his group phase matches, as he defeated Lukas Wenig, before suffering a defeat to Fallon Sherrock. However, The Dutchman did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Cam Crabtree, and from there, ‘The Cobra’ whitewashed the Englishman, 4-0, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Klaasen came up against Chris Landman in an all-Dutch clash, with Landman having defeated Fallon Sherrock in the last four, and on this occasion, The Former World Champion, Klaasen, demolished his fellow compatriot, 4-0, to seal the Week 9 title, picking up the £5,000 top prize and a place in Champions Week for the second time in his career.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 10, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
