Steve West opened Week 4 of Series 5 in the MODUS Super Series with 4 wins out of a possible 5, to lead Group A after Day 1 at the Live Lounge.
The Essex born thrower ended his first day of action with a 4-2 victory over Johnny Haines, missing just 3 darts at the outer ring with an average just shy of 94 in Portsmouth.
The Englishman’s only defeat on Day 1 came against former Champions Week winner Conan Whitehead, who included a 121 checkout in claiming a last leg decider 4-3 victory over the 48-year-old.
The Barbarian along with Dartsworld’s very own Colin Osborne and ADC Europe Qualifier Wesley Harms are level on 6pts, with the Wizard currently holding 2nd place on legs difference after 5 matches played.
The Winmau player defeated Sparky 4-1 in his opening match of the day at the Live Lounge, before picking up a pair of 4-1 wins against the Group’s bottom two players Alan Norris and Johnny Haines.
The recent Red Dragon Champion of Champions Semi Finalist and Norris are currently sat on 2pts, with Haines beating Conan Whitehead.
The former World Championship Quarter Finalist claimed his only win with a whitewash victory over Johnny in his opening game of the day.
The MODUS Super Series returns for Day 2 from 9:30am on Tuesday live on YouTube and Sportystuff TV, with leader Steve West opening the action against Johnny Haines from Portsmouth.
