Cool Hand Luke defeated 2017 winner Daryl Gurney in the nights curtain raiser 2-0 including 4 180s and 7 140s, winning a last leg decider in the 2nd set to advance in Leicester.
The Englishman ranked as the Number 6 Seed for the tournament, goes through to face Luke Woodhouse after he stunned recent Players Championship 23 winner Dave Chisnall 2-0 in the second match of the night.
2020 Quarter Finalist Joe Cullen continues his hunt for a first success in the competition, with a 2-0 opening round victory over Mike de Decker, winning his first leg of the match with a Shanghai: 120 checkout at the Morningside Arena.

The Last 16 starts on Wednesday live on Sky Sports from 7pm with UK Open champion Andrew Gilding taking on former back-to-back World Champion Gary Anderson in the night’s curtain raiser.
Brendan Dolan returns after his win over Dirk van Duijvenbode to face World Number 1 Michael Smith, whilst 2020 winner Gerwyn Price takes on German Darts Open winner Krzysztof Ratajski.
