Darryl Pilgrim, Ron Meulenkamp, David Davies, Paul Hogan and Chris Landman all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Robert Thornton, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Pilgrim, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after winning four of his five matches for the second day in a row, as he recorded victories against Jeroen Caron, Colin Osborne, Kevin Garcia and Steve Brown, with his only defeat coming against Ron Meulenkamp, to end on 16 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Ron Meulenkamp also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, edging out Colin Osborne, who narrowly missed out in 3rd on leg difference, whilst Jeroen Caron finished 4th on 10 points, Kevin Garcia in 5th on 6 points and Steve Brown bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, David Davies topped the group overall, after completing a clean sweep for the second night in a row, with four wins from four, as he recorded victories against Chris Landman, Paul Hogan, Glen Durrant and Conan Whitehead, to end on a maximum 16 points from a possible 16.
Paul Hogan and Chris Landman also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Hogan ending on 10 points and Landman on 8 points, whilst Conan Whitehead finished 4th on 6 points and Glen Durrant bottom on 0 points, having suffered eight straight defeats.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Seven with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm GMT.
