Tom Sykes was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week 10 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Darren Webster in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Sykes, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches.
The 31-year-old progressed through to the Semi as he defeated Brian Raman, before suffering a loss against Darren Webster. where he came up against James Wilson, and from there, Sykes defeated the ‘Jammy Dodger’ 4-1 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Sykes came up against Darren Webster for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Kurt Parry in the last four, and this time, The Englishman got his revenge against ‘The Demolition Man’, as he sealed a 4-2 victory to book his place in Champions Week and pick up the £5,000 weekly first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 11, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Japanese duo Mikuru Suzuki and Haruki Muramatsu.
Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
