Justin Hood and Ryan Harrington took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Chris Gilliland in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
Hood, who last appeared at the Super Series back in October, made his return by taking the early lead in Group A, after winning four of his five matches and recording victories against Christopher Toonders, Reece Colley, Chris Hurds and Gilbert Van der Meijden, with his only defeat coming against Mikuru Suzuki, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Reece Colley also ended the day on 8 points, but sits in 2nd behind Hood on leg difference, whilst Mikuru Suzuki and Christopher Toonders sit 3rd and 4th respectively on 6 points each, Gilbert Van der Meijden in 5th on 2 points and Chris Hurds bottom on 0 points, having suffered five defeats from five.
In Group B, Ryan Harrington topped the group overall, after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four, as he recorded victories against Carl Sneyd, Haruki Muramatsu, Joe Murnan and Harry Gregory, dropping just seven legs across the night.
Elsewhere, Joe Murnan ended the evening in 2nd on 6 points, whilst the remaining three players in Muramatsu, Sneyd and Gregory sit 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively on 2 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Chris Gilliland in Saturday’s finale, with Hood and Harrington taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT.
