Scott Taylor was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Champions Week at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Tom Sykes in the final to collect the £20,000 winner’s prize money.
Taylor, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly suffered a defeat to Ron Meulenkamp, before defeating Cam Crabtree to progress through to the Semi Finals.
The Bolton player then came up against John O’Shea and it was Taylor who was victorious in a battle between two former PDC Tour Card Holders to book his place in the final.
The final saw Taylor come up against Tom Sykes, who’d defeated Ron Meulenkamp in the last four, and the 31-year-old Target darts player dispatched his opponent 4-1.
Taylor collected £20,000 top prize and joins the list of Champions Week winners, which includes the likes of Conan Whitehead, Luke Littler and Jim McEwan.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Group A in a new edition in the form of ‘Double Trouble Week’.
