Shane McGuirk took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after completing a clean sweep, with five wins from five, as Week One of Series Seven commenced at the Modus Super Series.
McGuirk, who last appeared at the Super Series late in 2023, made it the best possible return by taking the early lead in Group A, with the Irishman winning all five of his matches, recording victories against Lisa Ashton, Nathan Girvan, Adam Mould, Timothy Verbrugghe and Jonny Barnes.
Elsewhere, Adam Mould and Jonny Barnes ended the day 2nd and 3rd respectively on 6 points each, whilst Nathan Girvan sits in 4th on 4 points, with Timothy Verbrugghe and Lisa Ashton sitting 5th and 6th on 2 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with McGuirk leading the way, for the first spot, thus far.
Play will begin at 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker websites worldwide.
