Boulton and Armstrong Lead

Andy Boulton and Darren Armstrong and took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Conor Heneghan in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.

Andy Boulton took the early lead in Group B, after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four, as he recorded victories against Lee Cocks, Mike Norton, Carlo Van Peer and Justin Smith.

Elsewhere, Justin Smith ended the evening in 2^nd on 6 points, Carlo Van Peer in 3^rd on 4 points, Lee Cocks in 4^th on 2 points and Mike Norton bottom on 0 points, having suffered four defeats from four on his Super Series return.

Armstrong, who entered Group C having finished 5^th in Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead, after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Derek Coulson, Jack Male, Lewy Williams and Danny Jansen, with his only defeat coming against Alec Small, to end the day on 8 points from a possible 10.

Danny Jansen ended the day in 2^nd on 6 points, whilst the remaining four players sit on 4 points each, with Derek Coulson leading the way in 3^rd due to having a higher leg difference over Jack Male, Alec Small and Lewy Williams.

Williams seems to have finally settled after a torrid time in Group A earlier in the week. The Welshman managed two strong early wins before running out of steam toward the end of the session.

The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Conor Heneghan in Saturday’s finale, with Armstrong and Boulton taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT.
