Hunt and Williams Secure More Challenge Tour Titles

PDC Winmau Challenge Tour Events 23 & 24
Joe Hunt secured top spot on the 2026 Challenge Tour Order of Merit on Sunday after he and fellow compatriot Patrik Williams shared the spoils in Events 23 & 24 as the second-tier tour season ended at Wigan’s Robin Park Leisure Centre.

Hunt – the winner of Event 22 on Saturday – went back-to-back in Wigan as he reached the
final of Event 23 firstly by recording victories against Derek Coulson, Nathan Rafferty, Mike Warburton, Liam Thewlis, Adrian Gray, Jack Aldridge and Harrison Leigh, to set up a clash with compatriot, Jack Tweddell.

The final began with Hunt racing into a 2-0 lead with winning legs coming in 16 and 15 darts respectively before Tweddell halved the deficit in Leg Three with a 12 dart hold of throw.

Hunt then dominated the remainder of the tie as he rattled off three successive legs and sealed a 5-1 victory in Leg Six with a 15 dart hold of throw to pick up a fifth title of the year as well as collecting the £3,000 top prize.

That victory sealed top spot on the Order of Merit for Hunt and a two-year PDC Tour Card for 2027/28 as well as a debut at both the Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts and the Paddy Power World Darts Championship, having all but earned the latter via the Pro Tour Order of
Merit due to performances in Players Championship Events throughout the year.

In Event 24, Patrik Williams was victorious as he reached the final firstly by recording victories against Llewellyn Roberts, Tony Fleming, Steve Hine, Matty Washbrooke, Oliver Mitchell, Jenson Remory and Sam Jackson, to set up a clash with Jack Aldridge.

The final began with four straight holds of throw between the pair, before the first break came from Williams in Leg Five with an 18 darter which was then followed by a break back from Aldridge in Leg Six to square the tie up at 3apiece.

Williams took control of the remainder of the tie as he won back-to-back legs to seal a 5-3 victory and pick up a maiden Challenge Tour title of his career.

Elsewhere, the day also saw Welshman Derek Coulson secure a two-year Tour Card for 2027/28 having finished 2nd on the Order of Merit as well as a place at the World Darts Championship, alongside Tommy Morris and Daniel Klose, with the pair finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.

Klose’s spot will be assured following the conclusion of the Pro Tour season with Challenge Tour table topper, Hunt, currently occupying an Order of Merit place.
