Jimmy Van Schie was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week Six at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Tom Sykes in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Van Schie, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly suffered a defeat to Darryl Pilgrim, before dispatching Kurt Parry to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Martin Adams, and from there, The Dutchman whitewashed ‘Wolfie’ 4-0 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Van Schie came up against Tom Sykes, who’d defeated Kurt Parry in the last four, and the Dutchman defeated Sykes 4-2 to book a spot in Champions Week for the first time in his career, as well as clinching the £5,000 weekly first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Seven, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Robert Thornton and Conan Whitehead.
