BEAU Greaves and Mikuru Suzuki made it a trio of weekend Women’s Series winners as each claimed titles as the 2024 season continued in Wigan. Sunday’s closing double-header saw over 100 players in action at the Robin Park Tennis Centre.

World Champion Greaves made history once again as she stormed the day’s opening event without dropping a leg, a feat previously unrivalled by the greats of the either sex.

The reigning Women’s World Matchplay champion averaged 100.20 against Lisa Ashton in the last 16, before posting a 98.88 average against Fallon Sherrock in the final to extend her lead at the top of the Women’s Series Order of Merit ahead of Sherrock in second.

Defeat to Noa-Lynn van Leuven, from 4-0 up, in Saturdays final seemed to have stung the Doncaster start into action. She disposed of the Dutch thrower at the semi final stage in the next event.

Event Eight saw Suzuki come through a last-leg decider with Deta Hedman in the quarter-finals, before following up with victories over Ashton and Greaves as the Japanese star doubled her 2024 Women’s Series title tally.

Defeat to Noa-Lynn van Leuven, from 4-0 up, in Saturdays final seemed to have stung Doncaster star Greaves into action. She disposed of the Dutch thrower at the semi final stage but seemed to run out of steam for the final.

The PDC Women’s Series continues with Events 9-12 on June 15-16 in Wigan, with live coverage getting underway from approximately 1000 BST on PDCTV.

The top eight players on the PDC Women’s Series Order of Merit after Event 12 will qualify for the 2024 Betfred Women’s World Matchplay, which takes place at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on Sunday July 21.

The top two players from the final Order of Merit will also qualify to compete in the 2024/25 Paddy Power World Darts Championship, alongside the winner of the 2024 Betfred Women’s World Matchplay.
