Greaves Leads Again

Beau Greaves and Marvin Van Velzen took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Scott Mitchell in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.

In Group B, Women’s World Champion Beau Greaves took the early lead, after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four as she returned to the Super Series having re found the winning habit at last weekend’s Women’s Series where Beau ‘n’ Arrow even managed to win an event without dropping a leg.

The Doncaster star recorded victories against Kevin Painter, Rob Collins, Adam Lipscombe and Sebastian Bialecki, with only the final game going the full 7 legs.

Elsewhere, Adam Lipscombe and Sebastian Bialecki ended the evening 2^nd and 3^rd respectively overall on 4 points each, whilst Rob Collins and Kevin Painter sit 4^th and 5^th on 2 points each heading into the second and final session on Friday.

Van Velzen, who entered Group C having finished 4^th in Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead, after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Stuart Kellett, Daniel Lee, Ray Mulvey and Doug Boehm, with his only defeat coming against Thomas Lovely, to end the day on 8 points from a possible 10.

Elsewhere, Thomas Lovely also ended the day on 8 points, but sits in 2^nd behind Van Velzen on leg difference, whilst three players in Doug Boehm, Daniel Lee and Stuart Kellett sit 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th respectively on 4 points each, with Ray Mulvey sitting bottom on 2 points.

The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Scott Mitchell in Saturday’s finale, with Van Velzen and Greaves taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST.
