Petersen Sweeps Clean

Devon Petersen and Scott Taylor took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Tommy Morris in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.

Petersen, who entered Group C having finished bottom of Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead, after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five. The former PDC Tour Card holder and European Tour winner seemed to have settled after a patch first three days in Group A.

The African Warrior recorded victories against Richard Rowlands, Brandon Western, Brian Raman, Michel Van der Horst and Sean McKinney, with four of his victories coming by the same (4-2) score line, to end the day on 10 points from a possible 10.

Elsewhere, Richard Rowlands and Brandon Western ended the day 2^nd and 3^rd respectively overall on 6 points each, whilst Michel Van der Horst sits in 4^th on 4 points, with Brian Raman and Sean McKinney sitting 5^th and 6^th on 2 points each.

In Group B, Scott Taylor took the early lead, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Ashley Coleman, Aden Kirk and Trina Gulliver, with his only defeat coming against Andrew Davidson, to end the evening on 6 points from a possible 8.

Elsewhere, Andrew Davidson and Aden Kirk also ended the night on 6 points each but sit 2^nd and 3^rd respectively behind Taylor on leg difference, whilst Ashley Coleman sits in 4^th on 2 points and Trina Gulliver bottom on 0 points, having suffered four defeats from four.

The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Tommy Morris in Saturday’s finale, with Petersen and Taylor taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST.
