African Warrior Leads Friday's Five at MSS

Devon Petersen, Richard Rowlands, Andrew Davidson, Scott Taylor and Aden Kirk all secured their places into Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Tommy Morris, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.

Petersen, who entered Friday’s play on 10 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after winning three of his five matches. The South African completed a topsy turvey week after a finishing bottom of Group A.

The African Warrior recorded victories against Michel Van der Horst, Brian Raman and Brandon Western, with his two defeats coming against Sean McKinney and Richard Rowlands, to end on 16 points from a possible 20.

Elsewhere, Richard Rowlands also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2^nd overall on 10 points, edging out Brian Raman, who missed out in 3^rd on leg difference, whilst the remaining three players in Michel Van der Horst, Sean McKinney and Brandon Western finished 4^th, 5^th and 6^th on 8 points each.

In Group B, Andrew Davidson topped the group overall, after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four. Davidson, an ADC qualifier has impressed strongly on his MSS appearances and may well be a threat on Saturday.

The Scot recorded victories against Trina Gulliver, Ashley Coleman, Scott Taylor and Aden Kirk, to end on 14 points from a possible 16.

Elsewhere, Scott Taylor and Aden Kirk also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2^nd and 3^rd respectively overall on 10 points each, whilst Ashley Coleman finished 4^th on 6 points and Trina Gulliver bottom on 0 points, having suffered eight straight defeats.

The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Eleven with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
