Following the Target Open Series events that took place on the weekend of the 8th and 9th June, the Points Order Of Merit players have been confirmed for the upcoming WSDT Matchplay.
The two-day event at the Barbican in York will run from October 4-5, and the top two players from the World Rankings and Points Order Of Merit have earned spots in the field.
Richie Howson recently took over as World Number 1, and the holder of the Champion of Champions will be present in York, along with World Number 2 and back-to-back WSDT World Championship Winner Robert Thornton.
They will be joined by the top player from the Points Order of Merit, which at the cut-off date were Paul Hogan, a three-time tournament finalist in 2024 and Order of Merit leader, Matt Clark, ranked number two after clinching the Event 11 title.
The next set of WSDT tour member events will take place from the 26th to the 28th July, with events 13 and 14 of the Target Open Series taking place, as well as LP Metal Detecting Series 5, plus two qualifying tournaments that will confirm two more players at the Matchplay.
Following that weekend, on Monday 29th July, the top two players in the World Rankings and the top two players in the Points Order of Merit will take their place in the WSDT Seniors Masters on the 7-8 November. The two qualifying tournaments for the WSDT Masters will be held in October.
