Wesley Plaisier took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as Week Seven of Series Eight commenced at the Modus Super Series.
Plaisier, who recently reached back-to-back finals on the PDC Pro Tour, made his return to the Super Series with the perfect start, with the Dutchman winning all five of his matches on the opening day.
Plaisier produced a stunning display to defeat Warburton in his third match of the day, whitewashing the Welsh international with a staggering 111.33 average.
The World Master also recorded victories against Viktor Tingstrom, Ben Payne, Andy Boulton and Cam Crabtree, dropping just six legs across the day, to sit on 10 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Cam Crabtree ended the day in 2nd on 6 points, whilst three players in Viktor Tingstrom, Andy Boulton and Mike Warburton sit 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively on 4 points each, with Ben Payne sitting bottom on 2 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Plaisier leading the way thus far.
