Adam Paxton was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Seven at the MODUS Super Series, after defeating Mike Warburton 4-3 in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and the weekly £5,000 prize.
Paxton, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly suffered a defeat to Wesley Plaisier before defeating Andy Boulton to progress through to the Semi Finals.
The 24 year old then came up against Viktor Tingstrom, and from there, Paxton whitewashed the Swede, 4-0, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Paxton came up against Mike Warburton, who had defeated Wesley Plaisier in the last four, and the Englishman came from 3-1 down to defeat his Welsh opponent 4-3 and seal a place at Champions Week for the first time, as well as collecting the £5,000 weekly first prize.
The MODUS Super Series returns on Monday with the beginning of Week Eight, starting with the first of three days in Group A commencing, in a field which includes Connor Scutt and Colin Osborne.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the MODUS YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
