Marvin Van Velzen was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week 10 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Adrian Gray in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Van Velzen, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Chas Barstow and Adrian Gray to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Nathan Girvan, and from there, Van Velzen defeated the Scotsman 4-1 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Van Velzen came up against Adrian Gray, who’d defeated Bradley Brooks in the last four, and ‘The Terminator’ dispatched his English opponent, 4-2, to seal his place in Champions Week for the first time as well as collecting the £5,000 first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 11, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Steve West, Richie Howson and Wayne Jones.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
