Steve West was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week 11 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Richie Howson in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Experience seemed to play a vital role on Saturday night as two players who have, between them, been through almost everything in darts, did battle for the weekly prize and the place in Champions Week
West, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly whitewashed Kurt Parry before suffering a deciding leg defeat to Krzysztof Kciuk.
However, ‘Simply’ Steve did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Barry Copeland, and from there, West defeated the Northern Irishman, 4-2, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, West came up against Richie Howson, who’d defeated Krzysztof Kciuk in the last four, and the Former PDC Tour Card Holder dispatched ‘The Owl’ 4-1 to seal his place in Champions Week once again, as well as collecting the weekly first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 12, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Darryl Pilgrim and Boris Koltsov.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
