Derek Coulson was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week 12 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Andy Davidson in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Coulson, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Jamie Owens and Andy Davidson to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Jarno Bottenberg and from there, Coulson defeated the Dutchman, 4-2, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Coulson came up against Andy Davidson for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Boris Koltsov in the last four, and once again, the Welshman got the better of his Scottish opponent, as he dispatched of Davidson, 4-1, to seal his place in Champions Week as well as collecting the weekly first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday for the start of Champions Week, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course.
