Marvin Van Velzen took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after winning four of his five matches, as Champions Week of Series Eight commenced at the Modus Super Series.
Van Velzen, who entered Champions Week having won Week 10 earlier this month, made his return by taking the early lead in Group A, after winning four matches from five and recording victories against Connor Scutt, Thomas Banks, Jimmy Van Schie and Tom Sykes, with his only defeat coming against Neil Duff, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, three players in Connor Scutt, Jimmy Van Schie and Neil Duff ended the day 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively on 6 points each, whilst Tom Sykes sits in 5th on 4 points and Thomas Banks bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Van Velzen leading the way thus far.
Play will begin at 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
