Robert Thornton took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after winning four of his five matches, with the second edition of Double Trouble Week commencing at the Modus Super Series.
Thornton, who last appeared at the Super Series back in July, made his return by taking the lead in Group A, after winning four matches from five, as he recorded victories against Scott Mitchell, John Henderson, Neil Duff and Richie Burnett, with his only defeat coming against Andreas Harrysson, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, three players including defending ‘Double Trouble Champion’ Neil Duff, Scott Mitchell and Andreas Harrysson ended the day 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively on 6 points each, whilst Richie Burnett sits in 5th on 4 points and John Henderson bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Thornton leading the way thus far.
