AUTUMN issues of Darts World Magazine are often a hybrid of review and preview. This used to be because the longer gap between issues and the relative calm of the summer necessitated a broader brush.
The same approach is now needed to cope with the huge increase in Summer activity and the unprecedented anticipation of the upcoming spell of ranking majors leading to the World Championships.
‘The Two Lukes’ have again dominated the summer with Cool Hand Humphries claiming the biggest ranking honours and Littler, aka The Nuke, adding another TV title and more Pro Tour success.
Womens darts has enjoyed another strong spell with Beau Greaves retaining her (PDC) World Matchplay title. Yet, by no means has the World Champion had things all her own way with Rhian O’Sullivan, Fallon Sherrock and Robyn Byrne among those claiming significant Womens titles.
The PDC’s Pro, tier and affiliated tours and their global ‘Masters’ events were also busy over the summer and we will attempt to bring you up to date within these pages.
The amateur side of our game has been highly active since our last print issue. UKDA have completed their 2023/24 season and just started their next one! Catch up from page 50 onwards.
The ADC and WADC have played their main tours and set up their 8 player finals events which will be played on the MODUS Super Series stage in November. The standard and variety of winners continue to impress.
The upcoming months are likely to be some of the most keenly anticipated and busiest ever with multiple WDF majors as well as the PDC ‘majors’ season.
To help keep you informed DW launched its remodelled website (dartsworld.com) over the summer and you can now find all our magazines in one place together with links to our visual and podcast content. Visit us and join the growing DW family.
