Paul Hogan was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week Five at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Devon Petersen in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and claim the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Hogan, who entered the finale having finished 3rd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly defeated Devon Petersen, before suffering a defeat to Thomas Lovely. However, the veteran did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Stowe Buntz and from there, Hogan defeated the American, 4-3, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Hogan came up against Devon Petersen for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Noa-Lynn Van Leuven in the last four, and once again ‘Crocodile Dundee’ got the better of ‘The African Warrior’ as he defeated the Former PDC Tour Card Holder, 4-2, to seal his place in Champions Week once again as well as collecting the £5,000 1st prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Six, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Tom Sykes, Ashley Coleman and Colin Osborne.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
