The inaugural ADC Global Championship got underway in Portsmouth yesterday as the top class international field began their efforts to qualify for the finale and to earn a share of the £85,000 prize pot.
Scotland’s Andy Boulton took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after winning four of his five matches, with the first week of the ADC Global Championship commencing at the MODUS Live Lounge.
Boulton, who’s last competitive action came during Champions Week at the Modus Super Series last week, made an instant return to the Live Lounge by taking the early lead in Group A, after winning four matches from five.
X Factor recorded victories against Brian Raman, Sebastian Bialecki, Thomas Banks and Gemma Hayter, with his only defeat coming against Andreas Nikolaou, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Andreas Nikolaou and Gemma Hayter ended the day 2nd and 3rd respectively on 6 points each, whilst Sebastian Bialecki and Thomas Banks sit 4th and 5th on 4 points each, with Brian Raman sitting bottom on 2 points.
The ADC Global Championship continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Boulton leading the way thus far.
Play will begin at 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
