Luke Littler is now the 5/4 favourite to win the World Darts Championship after booking his place in the third round of the competition over the weekend, according to Instant Casino.
Littler was priced at 2/1 in the build-up to his second-round clash with Ryan Meikle on Saturday night, but after claiming a 3-1 win, his odds for a first world title have shortened to 5/4 ahead of a third-round tie against Ian White.
Reigning world champion Luke Humphries is next in line at 11/4 ahead of his third-round clash with Nick Kenny, while three-time winner Michael van Gerwen is third favourite at 11/2.
“Luke Littler may have survived a bit of a scare against Ryan Meikle over the weekend but he managed to overcome his compatriot and even came within millimetres of a nine-dart finish.
“We can only see him going from strength to strength now as the action continues at Alexandra Palace, and ahead of Littler’s third-round fixture against Ian White he is now just 5/4 to go all the way and make history, having shortened since last week when he was 2/1 for glory.
“Reigning world champion Luke Humphries cannot of course be ruled out and is 11/4 to make it back-to-back world titles, while Michael van Gerwen is 11/2 to claim a fourth PDC World Darts Championship.”
