Steve Beaton took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after winning four of his five matches, with the inaugural Legends League Week commencing at the Modus Super Series.
1996 Lakeside World Champion, Beaton, who recently stepped down from the PDC Tour, made his long-awaited debut at the Super Series and won four matches from five to take the early lead in Group A, as he recorded victories against Robert Thornton, Richie Howson, Richie Burnett and Devon Petersen, with his only defeat coming against Neil Duff, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, three players in Richie Howson, Richie Burnett and Neil Duff ended the day 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively overall on 6 points each, whilst Robert Thornton and Devon Petersen sit 5th and 6th on 2 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Beaton leading the way thus far.
