Henry Coates and Danny Van Trijp took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Richie Howson in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
Coates, who was making his debut at the Super Series, took the early lead in Group C, after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Ultan McDyer, Patrick Dekker, Luke Smith and Mason Whitlock, with his only defeat coming against Justin Smith, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, three players in Justin Smith, Mason Whitlock and Ultan McDyer ended the day 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively on 6 points each, whilst Patrick Dekker sits in 5th on 4 points and Luke Smith bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.
In Group B, Danny Van Trijp took the early lead, after winning three of his four matches on Thursday Evening, as he recorded victories against Shane McGuirk, Brandon Weening and Kelvin O’Keefe, with his only defeat coming against John O’Shea, to sit on 6 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, Brandon Weening also ended the night on 6 points, but sits in 2nd behind Van Trijp on leg difference, whilst Shane McGuirk sits in 3rd on 4 points, with John O’Shea and Kelvin O’Keefe sitting 4th and 5th respectively on 2 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Richie Howson in Saturday’s finale, with Coates and Van Trijp taking the early lead thus far.
Group C will commence from 1pm GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
