Shane McGuirk was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Four at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Danny Van Trijp in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and pick up the weekly top prize.
McGuirk, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he recorded victories against Brandon Weening and Justin Smith to progress through to the Semi Finals.
The reigning WDF World Champion then came up against Henry Coates, ‘The Arrow‘ defeated the Englishman, 4-1, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, McGuirk came up against Danny Van Trijp, who’d defeated Brandon Weening in a last leg decider in the last four, and it was the reigning WDF World Champion who came out on top, as McGuirk defeated his Dutch opponent, 4-2, to seal his place in Champions Week, as well as collecting the £5,000 first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Five, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Former PDC World Youth Champion Ted Evetts. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
