Dom Taylor, Cameron Menzies, Stefan Bellmont and William O’Connor impressed in Tuesday’s Players Championship as Heavy Metal captured the title.
Ryan Searle picked up a sixth PDC title of his career on Tuesday, after a dominant 8-3 victory over Cameron Menzies in the final of Players Championship Four, as the second double header of the 2025 PDC Pro Tour season concluded in Rosmalen, Netherlands.
This season has started in similar fashion the way the 2024 season progressed. It featured a large variety of winners, with the first 14 events going to different names, and multiple lower ranked players winning titles, or reaching the later stages regularly.
Searle, who has picked up a Players Championship title within the first four events of each of the last two years, kept that trend going in Event Four of 2025, as he reached the final firstly by recording victories against Florian Hempel, Mensur Suljovic, Owen Bates, Mickey Mansell, William O’Connor and Stefan Bellmont, to set up a clash with Menzies.
The final began with four straight holds of throw between the pair, ending with Searle breaking Menzies’ throw in Leg Five with a 13 darter, which was then followed by a 12 dart hold of throw to move 4-2 ahead and halfway to victory.
Menzies halved the deficit in the following leg with a 17 darter, which was then followed by a rampage from Searle, who rattled off four successive legs, which included a trio of 15 darters and sealing the victory in Leg 11 with a 16 darter to clinch yet another PDC title as well as the £15,000 top prize.
Menzies, who picked up his maiden Pro Tour title last year, narrowly missed out on doubling his title tally, as he reached the final by recording a succession of victories against Jose De Sousa, Christian Kist, Wesley Plaisier, Stephen Bunting, James Wade and Dom Taylor, before being denied by Searle.
Elsewhere, there were Quarter Final runs for Northern Ireland’s Premier Player Josh Rock and Former World Championship Semi Finalist Gabriel Clemens, whilst the likes of Michael Smith, Jonny Clayton and Mike De Decker were amongst the high profile first round casualties, with Monday’s PC3 winner Chris Dobey suffering a second-round exit.
The PDC Pro Tour returns on 11-12th March in Leicester with Players Championship Five & Six taking place from the Mattioli Arena, with 128 players competing for £125,000 in prize money each day. Play will be broadcasted across four streaming boards on PDC.TV and various bookmaker websites worldwide, with all live scores and results on tv.dartconnect.com.
