Carl Wilson, David Wawrzewski, Jamie Owens, Reece Robinson and Ted Evetts all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Kurt Parry, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Wilson, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as he recorded victories against Ricky King, Dan Nicholls, David Wawrzewski, Darren Brown and Ektoras Stylianou, to end on 18 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, David Wawrzewski also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 14 points, whilst Darren Brown and Dan Nicholls finished 3rd and 4th respectively on 10 points each, with Ricky King finishing 5th on 8 points and Ektoras Stylianou bottom on 0 points, having suffered ten straight defeats.
In Group B, Jamie Owens topped the group overall, despite only winning two of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Mark McGeeney and Ted Evetts, with his two defeats coming against Reece Colley and Reece Robinson, to end on 12 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Reece Robinson and Ted Evetts also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Robinson ending on 10 points and Evetts on 8 points, edging out Reece Colley, who also ended on 8 points, but missed out in 4th due to leg difference, whilst Mark McGeeney finished bottom on 2 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Five with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
