Owen Bates and Beau Greaves were victorious on Saturday, after winning the Winmau Development Tour Events Three & Four respectively, as the opening weekend of the 2025 PDC’s Youth Tour season continued at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes.
Friday saw the PDC Development Tour season commence, with Poland’s Sebastian Bialecki as well as Beau Greaves triumphing by winning Events One & Two respectively, with each picking up the £2,500 top prize.
In Event Three, Owen Bates was victorious, as he reached the final firstly by recording victories against Jannis Barkhausen, Ashley Marson, Ieuan Halsall, Patrick McShane, Charlie Large, Tavis Dudeney and Cam Crabtree, to set up a clash with compatriot, Charlie Manby.
The final began with Bates racing into a 2-0 lead, with winning legs coming in a total of 33 darts, before Manby halved the deficit with a 14-dart break of throw in Leg Three. Bates then immediately broke back with a 14-dart leg of his own, before following it up with a 19 dart hold of throw to move 4-1 ahead and within one of victory. Manby did pull one leg back, before Bates sealed the victory in Leg Seven with a 20 dart hold of throw to pick up a maiden Development Tour title as well as the £2,500 top prize.
In Event Four, Beau Greaves picked up her second title within the space of 24 hours, as she reached the final firstly by recording victories against Jenson Walker, Lewis Gurney, Lennert Faes, Dominik Gruellich, Mitchell Leeming, Liam Maendl-Lawrance and Danny Jansen, to set up a clash with James Beeton.
The final began with Greaves pinning back-to-back 15 darters, before Beeton halved the deficit in Leg Three with a 15-dart leg of his own. Greaves then moved within one of victory by winning two straight legs in 14 and 16 darts respectively to move 4-1 ahead. Beeton did pull one leg back, before Greaves sealed the victory with yet another 15 darter in Leg Seven to pick up a third Development Tour title of her career and a sixth PDC title of the year already.
The PDC Winmau Development Tour weekend concludes on Sunday with Event Five taking place in Milton Keynes, as play commences from 10:30 GMT, with all live scores and results to be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com
