Steve Beaton‘s Double Trouble debut sees him lead a remarkable group of five into Saturday’s MSS special week finale. Neil Duff, Andreas Harrysson, Robert Thornton and Ted Evetts also secured their places in the latest Double Trouble finale on Friday.
The five, after coming through their respective groups in Portsmouth, will all join Leonard Gates, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Duff, who entered Friday’s play on 10 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after winning three of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Mark Dudbridge, Simon Whitlock and Keegan Brown, with his two defeats coming against Steve Beaton and Adrian Gray, to end on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Steve Beaton also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, edging out Adrian Gray, who also ended on 12 points, but missed out in 3rd remarkably due to combined match averages across two days of play, whilst Simon Whitlock finished 4th on 10 points, Keegan Brown in 5th on 6 points and Mark Dudbridge bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, Andreas Harrysson topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Robert Thornton, Ted Evetts and Ross Montgomery, with his only defeat coming against Steve West, to end on 10 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Robert Thornton and Ted Evetts also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Thornton ending on 10 points and Evetts on 8 points, edging past Steve West, who also ended on 8 points, but missed in 4th due to leg difference, whilst Ross Montgomery finished bottom on 4 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Double Trouble Week with the six players battling it out for the £5,000 top prize. Play will commence from 7:30pm GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
