Scott Campbell was victorious on Sunday, in winning a maiden Winmau Challenge Tour title of his career, after defeating Dan Hands in the decider, as the second weekend of the PDC’s second tier tour season ended in Hildesheim.
Campbell, who’s furthest run on the 2025 Challenge Tour to date was two Last 32 runs at Friday’s Events Six and Seven, reached the final of Event Ten firstly by recording victories against Jan Dueckers, Ryan O’Connor, Frankie Ansell, Ted Evetts, Jamai Van der Herik, James Beeton and Jacques Labre, to set up a clash with England’s Dan Hands.
The final began with Hands taking the opener in 20 darts, before Campbell charged in front by rattling off three successive legs in 18,12 and 15 darts respectively to move 3-1 ahead in a race to five. The tie then saw four straight holds of throw between the pair, which saw Campbell seal the victory in Leg Eight with a 17 darter to secure a 5-3 victory, claim a maiden PDC title as well as collecting £2,500 in prize money.
The PDC Winmau Challenge Tour returns between 2-4th May with Events 11-15 taking place at the Arena MK, Milton Keynes. All live scores and results will be viewed via tv.dartconnect.com.
The top two players from the final 2025 Challenge Tour Order of Merit will secure a PDC Tour Card for 2026/27 as well as a place at the 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship.
