Johnny Haines, Richard McKee, Andreas Harrysson, Jim McEwan and Devon Petersen all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Graham Usher, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Former PDC Pro Tour player Haines, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against James Wilson, Steve De Buck, Robbie Long and Romeo Grbavac, with his only defeat coming against Richard McKee, to end on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Richard McKee also progressed through to Saturday’s finale on debut, after finishing 2nd overall on 16 points, whilst Romeo Grbavac and Robbie Long finished 3rd and 4th respectively on 10 points each, with James Wilson finishing 5th on 8 points and Steve De Buck bottom on 0 points having suffered ten straight defeats.
In Group B, Andreas Harrysson topped the group overall after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Chris Quantock, Paul Hogan and Devon Petersen, with his only defeat coming against Jim McEwan, to end on 14 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Jim McEwan and Devon Petersen also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with McEwan ending on 12 points and Petersen on 6 points, edging past Paul Hogan, who also ended on 6 points, but missed in 4th due to the pair’s head-to-head statistic, whilst Chris Quantock finished bottom on 2 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Eight with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm GMT.
