Jenson Walker and Sam Spivey took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Scott Campbell in Saturday’s Champions Week finale at the Modus Super Series.
Walker, who entered Group C having finished 5th in Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Reece Robinson, David Evans, Alec Small and Mervyn King, with his only defeat coming against Jarred Cole, to sit
on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Mervyn King also ended the day on 8 points, but sits in 2nd behind Walker on leg difference, whilst Reece Robinson and Jarred Cole sit 3rd and 4th respectively on 6 points each, with David Evans sitting in 5th on 2 points and Alec Small bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.
In Group B, Sam Spivey took the early lead after winning three of his four matches on Thursday Evening, as he recorded victories against Shane McGuirk, David Davies and Devon Petersen, with his only defeat coming against Derek Coulson, to sit on 6 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, Derek Coulson also ended the night on 6 points, but sits in 2nd behind Spivey on leg difference, whilst Shane McGuirk sits in 3rd on 4 points, with Devon Petersen and David Davies sitting 4th and 5th respectively on 2 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Scott Campbell in Saturday’s Champions Week finale, with Walker and Spivey taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from
10pm BST.
