Jeff Smith secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, after winning four of his five matches to end his Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the Modus Super Series.
Smith, who entered Wednesday’s play on 10 points from the opening two days of Group A, topped the group overall after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Tommy Morris, David Evans, Dustin Straver and Mervyn King, with his only defeat coming against Adrian Gray, to end on 18 points from a possible 30 overall.
Elsewhere, Mervyn King and David Evans will both compete in Group B, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall on 16 points each. The duo will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Gary Stone, Adam Mould and James Hubbard.
Tommy Morris, Adrian Gray and Dustin Straver will all compete in Group C, after finishing 4th, 5th and 6th respectively overall, with Morris and Gray ending on 16 points each and Straver ending on 8 points. The trio will be joined on Thursday and Friday Afternoon by Ashley Coleman, Darren Brown and Danny Ayres.
The Modus Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 1pm BST and Group B commencing from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
