Tommy Morris and Gary Stone took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Jeff Smith in Saturday’s finale at the MODUS Super Series.
Morris, who entered Group C having finished 4th in Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Ashley Coleman, Dustin Straver, Darren Brown and Adrian Gray, with his only defeat coming against Danny Ayres, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Dustin Straver and Danny Ayres also ended the day on 8 points each, but sit 2nd and 3rd respectively behind Morris due to leg difference, whilst Darren Brown sits in 4th on 4 points, Ashley Coleman in 5th on 2 points and Adrian Gray bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.
In Group B, Gary Stone took the early lead after winning three of his four matches on Thursday Evening, as he recorded victories against Adam Mould, Mervyn King and David Evans, with his only defeat coming against James Hubbard, to sit on 6 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, three players in David Evans, Adam Mould and James Hubbard ended the evening 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively on 4 points each, with Mervyn King sitting bottom on 2 points.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Jeff Smith in Saturday’s finale, with Morris and Stone taking the early lead thus far.
Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
