John O’Shea was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Three at the MODUS Super Series, after defeating Brian Raman in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly top prize.
O’Shea, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly defeated Brian Raman, before suffering a defeat to Kevin Burness.
However, ‘The Joker’ did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Alec Small, and from there, O’Shea defeated his Welsh opponent, 4-2, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, O’Shea came up against Brian Raman for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Graham Hall in the last four, and once again the Former World Master defeated the quick-fired Belgian, 4-1, to seal his place in Champions Week for the first time as well as collecting the weekly winner’s prize.
The MODUS Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Four, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Kurt Parry, Sam Spivey and Scott Campbell.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the MODUS YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
