Greaves MK Double

Play the Pro Darts Scorer

Brilliant Beau Greaves did what Beau Greaves generally does – rock up to a PDC Women’s Series event and win it. Today in Milton Keynes, it didn’t just happen once, but twice, as the Doncaster Belle boosted her title tally on the tour to a staggering eight. And they’ve only played fourteen events.

Needless to say, the 21-year-old holds a commanding lead on the Order of Merit – her total points being double that of her nearest challenger, Fallon Sherrock, who sits in second. Beau is also top of the Development Tour, flying high on the Challenge Tour, and if I checked the Tour de France standings, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her name near the top of that too. Not that she has much time for cycling when she’s busy dominating the Women’s Series as she is.

Victory number one of the afternoon came at the expense of the aforementioned Queen of the Palace. As a Milton Keynes resident, Fallon can at least console herself with a night in her own bed after a long day. Beau, meanwhile, is so laid-back it probably wouldn’t matter where she rests her head – though, typically after another big pay-day, hotel prices are not a major concern.

Beau & Arrow’s best display of the opening tournament came in her quarter-final victory over Noa-Lynn van Leuven – arguably the highest-quality match of the event. Finishing just shy of a ton average, the youngster carried that form into the semi-final to see off the impressive Gemma Hayter 5–2. Title number seven of the season was then confirmed by the same scoreline against Fallon.

After a quick break for lunch, the three-time WDF World Champion was at it again, storming into the semi-finals of the second event while dropping just five legs along the way. Once more, she was the fly in Gemma Hayter’s soup – though the final proved a much closer affair.

Her opponent, Lorraine Winstanley, soared into a 3–1 lead and looked set to cause an upset. But back roared the South Yorkshire slinger, who edged ahead 4–3 before a brilliant 15-dart leg from her compatriot forced a decider. And that’s when Miss Arrow stepped up once more – taking the deciding leg and completing the perfect start to the two-day series.

Greaves will be hoping for more of the same tomorrow. The rest of the field will be hoping her alarm clock doesn’t go off.
