CAMPBELL TO MEET BRANDON AT PDC NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Canadian number one Matt Campbell will open his defence of the bet365 North American Championship against Jason Brandon on Saturday, as American stars Danny Lauby and Leonard Gates also go head-to-head in New York.
The eight-player tournament will be played on the afternoon of Saturday June 28 in the Theater at Madison Square Garden, as the sport’s leading North American players compete for the $10,000 first prize and a place in the World Darts Championship and Grand Slam of Darts.
Reigning champion Campbell – also the 2023 runner-up – will be aiming to go back-to-back in the Big Apple, as he bids to cement his status as the leading light in North American darts.
The 35-year-old is the highest-ranked North American representative on the PDC circuit, having featured in a brace of Players Championship finals since 2022.
Campbell will take on CDC Qualifier Jason Brandon for a place in the semi-finals, after the Tennessee-born veteran overcame David Cameron to confirm his big stage return.
In arguably the tie of the round, American number one Lauby will lock horns with CDC Cross-Border Challenge winner Gates, who memorably lifted the North American Championship title in 2022.
Lauby or Gates will advance to a showdown against either Canada’s World Cup star Jim Long or CDC Order of Merit leader Adam Sevada, who also collide for a place in the semi-finals.
Elsewhere, the remaining quarter-final clash will see Tour Card Holder Jules van Dongen play his compatriot Stowe Buntz, a Grand Slam of Darts quarter-finalist back in 2023.
The tournament will feature the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in one session on Saturday June 28 (1300 EST), with all matches being played over the best of 11 legs.
The 2025 bet365 US Darts Masters will be broadcast live through Peacock and FanDuel in the US, with coverage on DAZN also available exclusively in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Further global coverage will be broadcast live through Viaplay in various territories including the Netherlands, as well as via PDCTV in all countries outside Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
