Viinikainen is Women's Week's Wednesday Warrior

Kirsi Viinikainen secured her place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, after winning four of her five matches to end her Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the MODUS Super Series.

Viinikainen, who entered Wednesday’s play on 16 points from the opening two days of Group A, topped the group overall after winning four matches from five, as she recorded victories against Gemma Hayter, Trina Gulliver, Natalie Gilbert and Paige Pauling, with her only defeat coming against Kirsty Hutchinson, to end on 24 points from a possible 30 overall.

Elsewhere, Gemma Hayter and Trina Gulliver will both compete in Group B, after the pair finished 2^nd and 3^rd respectively overall, with Hayter ending on 22 points and Gulliver on 14 points. The duo will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Robyn Byrne, Laura Turner and Steph Clarke.

Paige Pauling, Kirsty Hutchinson and Natalie Gilbert will all compete in Group C, after finishing 4^th, 5^th and 6^th respectively overall, with Pauling ending on 12 points, Hutchinson on 10 points and Gilbert on 8 points. The trio will be joined on Thursday and Friday Afternoon by Vicky Pruim, Sophie McKinlay and Angela Kirkwood.

The MODUS Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 1pm BST and Group B commencing from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the MODUS YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
