Sophie McKinlay, Kirsty Hutchinson, Robyn Byrne, Gemma Hayter and Laura Turner all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Kirsi Viinikainen, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
McKinlay, who entered Friday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as she recorded victories against Angela Kirkwood, Paige Pauling, Vicky Pruim, Natalie Gilbert and Kirsty Hutchinson, to end on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Kirsty Hutchinson also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 16 points, missing out on top spot due to leg difference, whilst Vicky Pruim finished 3rd on 10 points, Paige Pauling in 4th on 8 points, Natalie Gilbert in 5th on 6 points and Angela Kirkwood bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, Robyn Byrne topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four on Friday Evening, as she recorded victories against Trina Gulliver, Steph Clarke, Gemma Hayter and Laura Turner, to end on 10 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Gemma Hayter and Laura Turner also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Hayter ending on 10 points and Turner on 8 points, whilst Trina Gulliver and Steph Clarke finished 4th and 5th respectively on 6 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Women’s Week Four with the six players battling it out for the £5,000 top prize. Play will commence from 7:30pm BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
